COLLABORATIVE DRUG THERAPY AGREEMENT

How Often Does a CDTA Need to be Reviewed?

State boards of pharmacy may dictate how frequently a collaborative drug therapy agreement (CDTA) needs to be reviewed and re-submitted to the board. For example, the Washington State Board of Pharmacy requires a review of protocols and a new protocol to be signed every two years. Some protocols may need to be reviewed more frequently if drug resistance occurs, practice guidelines are updated, or if there are changes in practice. Review the CDTA regulations for your state to know the limits on a protocol.
