ASPR HPP Capabilities Released!

ASPR’s January 2012 release of Healthcare Preparedness Capabilities: National Guidance for Healthcare System Preparedness moved ASPR and CDC one step closer to alignment of the Hospital Preparedness Program and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreements. According to RADM Nicole Lurie, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, “In concert with the CDC’s Public Health Preparedness Capabilities: National Standards for State and Local Planning, these evidence-based documents will serve as the cornerstones for health preparedness planning.” The Healthcare Preparedness Capabilities are designed to assist healthcare systems, healthcare coalitions and healthcare organizations, through their health departments, in developing annual and long-term preparedness plans to guide preparedness strategies and investments.
